SOCIAL MEDIA CRASH COURSE
LEARNING ACTIVITY
Putting your learning into practice
We learn best when we do not only read things, but also apply our knowledge and use what we have learned in our personal contexts and lives. For these reason, we have two activities prepared for you. Please try to engage with both, but if you are struggling with time, prioritise the second task.

Task 1:
Go to the forum. You will there find a discussion thread that displays some examples of instagram accounts concerning conservation and environment. Pick one account and post a reply to the forum, answering at least one of the following questions:
- what are things that algorithms love about this post?
- how does the post manage to engage users?
- what did you personally find interesting about this post, so that you would consider using it for your own social media communication as well?

If you already have a lot of experience with social media, feel free to focus on these questions:
- what from your chosen post could be something you will use as an idea in your future practice?
- what could a post have done better?

Task 2:
a) Design a post about a past, present or future issue in your own organisation or work life, following the three steps of module 2 and the tips in module 3 to make it as engaging as possible. If you can, do upload the post on a social media platform of your choice. Share the post and your experiences after uploading it with other participants of the communication training here on the forum (if you are not participating in the communication training, share it with a colleague and ask for feedback).
b) Look at the post of at least one other person and give some feedback. If you already have a lot of experience with social media, please feel very welcome share your experience and knowledge to help others improve!
